Pre-Trip Readiness Check

Show up and go. Before you drive to the marina, we confirm your boat is safe, powered, and ready—so you spend your day on the water, not troubleshooting at the dock.

What’s Included (Typical)

A readiness check is a dockside verification visit focused on safety, reliability, and “first hour” readiness. The exact checklist is adjusted based on sail vs. power, boat size, and your trip plan.

  • Power & batteries: shore power secure, basic charger/voltage cues, obvious electrical issues
  • Bilge & leaks: bilge condition, pump cues, visible leaks or water intrusion signs
  • Lines & fenders: safe departure setup, chafe issues, dock hazards
  • Cabin readiness: odors/mildew flags, ventilation, obvious water issues
  • Safety baseline: visible safety gear check (as accessible), navigation lights cue check (when practical)
  • Systems spot checks: basic “turn-on” checks for critical systems (as authorized and safe)
  • Report + action list: what’s ready, what needs attention, and what to bring/handle before departure

Common Add-Ons

  • Cold start / dockside run check: if authorized and appropriate for your plan level
  • Ice / provisioning help: simple “staging” tasks by request (availability dependent)
  • Water / shore power configuration: align to your preferences and marina rules

Great For

  • Owners traveling in from out of town
  • First trip after weeks/months away
  • After heavy rain or suspected battery/shore power issues
  • Before guests arrive (so you’re not fixing issues with an audience)

Service Area

Clear Lake, Kemah, Galveston Bay, and nearby Gulf Coast marinas. See Locations.

FAQs

Is this included with membership?
Many members use higher tiers for ongoing readiness support. If you’re not a member, this can be booked as a one-time service. If you want routine “show up and go” coverage, compare plans at Memberships.

Do you check fuel, water, or fluids?
We can verify visible gauges/levels where accessible and report what we see. Fueling, pump-outs, or advanced mechanical checks may require coordination with marina services or your preferred mechanic.

Can you run the boat for me?
Dockside run checks can be arranged if authorized and safe. Moving the vessel off the dock is not part of standard readiness checks unless explicitly agreed in writing.

What do I get after the visit?
A short “ready / not ready” summary with photos and a prioritized action list so you know exactly what to do when you arrive.
