About YachtWatchers

YachtWatchers is your trained set of eyes on the dock—built to help prevent the quiet failures that happen while boats sit unattended in their slip.

Our Mission

To help boat owners protect their investment and enjoy the water more by providing consistent, documented, professional dockside oversight—especially for absentee, part-time, and busy owners.

What YachtWatchers Is

YachtWatchers is a local dockside guardianship and boat monitoring service serving Kemah, Clear Lake, Galveston Bay, and the Texas Gulf Coast. We visit your boat on a schedule, step aboard, and perform a structured multi-point check of common failure points—then send you a clear, photo-rich report so you always know the real condition of your boat, even when you’re miles away.

Meet the Founder

YachtWatchers was founded by Jeremy Harbin—a licensed Master Captain, ABYC member, and avid sail & power boater with 25+ years of experience. Jeremy built YachtWatchers around the same mindset good captains live by: disciplined checklists, consistent documentation, and handling small issues before they become expensive emergencies.

  • Licensed Master Captain (commercial credentialed leadership and seamanship)
  • ABYC member — ABYC develops voluntary safety standards for recreational boat design, construction, maintenance, and repair
  • 25+ years boating experience across sail and power vessels
  • Professional, marina-friendly operations with documented processes

Why We Exist

Boats rarely fail when you’re standing on the dock—they fail quietly, in the slip. Small problems like a slow leak, a weak battery, a tripped breaker, or a clogged strainer can cascade quickly when no one is checking. YachtWatchers exists to close that gap with routine visits, documentation, and fast escalation when something looks wrong.

How We Work

Every membership follows the same simple workflow:

  • Regular inspections: We visit on a cadence based on your plan and inspect common failure points dockside.
  • Inspection report: After each visit, you receive a time-stamped digital report with notes and clear photos.
  • Emergency alerts: If something needs immediate attention, we notify you promptly and can alert approved local resources (marina staff, BoatUS, Sea Tow) if needed.
  • Repairs & coordination: When requested, we can handle minor corrective steps and help coordinate trusted providers for larger work (parts/labor invoiced separately).

Membership Tiers

Whether you need a basic safety watch or true “show up and go” readiness, YachtWatchers offers tiered plans from Keep It Floating all the way to concierge-level care. View the full comparison table here: Memberships.

Access, Keys, and Security

During onboarding, we agree on the safest way to access your dock and boat (gate codes, dock box keys, vessel keys, etc.). YachtWatchers stores keys in a locked, labeled key system and logs each time they’re checked out and returned. We do not share your keys or codes with third parties.

Insured & Marina-Friendly

YachtWatchers is fully insured and carries appropriate commercial liability and marine-related coverage for the work we perform around your vessel. Many marinas require proof of insurance for contractors; we can provide documentation and list marinas as additional insured when needed.

Where We Serve

We currently monitor boats across Kemah, Clear Lake, Galveston Bay, and nearby Gulf Coast marinas, with new locations being added regularly. View the complete list and map here: Locations.

What We Are (and Aren’t)

YachtWatchers provides professional dockside monitoring, documentation, and coordination. We are not a replacement for marine insurance, a full marine survey, or emergency rescue services. If you need specialized mechanical, electrical, or structural diagnosis, we’ll help you coordinate with qualified professionals or your preferred yard.
