Boat Monitoring

Boat Monitoring, Boat Watching, and Dock Checks are part of our core services

Core Service

Boat Monitoring / Boat Watch / Dock Checks

YachtWatchers acts as your eyes on the dock—scheduled visits, a structured checklist, and photo-rich reporting so small problems don’t turn into big losses.

Who This Is For

Boat owners who don’t live close to the marina, travel frequently, or simply can’t get to the dock often enough. Monitoring is especially valuable during heavy rain seasons, heat waves, and when storms are brewing.

What’s Included

Every visit follows a structured checklist focused on the systems most likely to cause dockside damage or sinking. The exact scope and visit frequency depends on your plan.

  • Bilge: water level, pump operation, alarms (if installed)
  • Power: shore power connection, cord/plug security, overheating risk, battery voltage checks
  • Dockside safety: lines, chafe points, fenders, cleats, basic hull/topside visual
  • Cabin quick check: leaks, odors, obvious water intrusion or pests (as access allows)
  • Member reporting: time-stamped notes + clear photos after each visit

Reporting You Can Share

After each visit you receive a time-stamped digital report by email with notes, photos, and “all good / watch / needs attention” indicators. Higher tiers can include hazard trend analysis to spot patterns before they become failures.

FAQs

How often do you check my boat?
Visit frequency depends on your membership level. We’ll recommend a cadence based on your marina location, boat type, and how often the boat sits unattended.

Do you run engines or generators?
Some plans include limited dockside start/run checks and system testing; see the membership comparison for details. Routine visits generally focus on monitoring and prevention.

What if you find a problem?
We contact you right away with photos and a short description. When possible, we’ll take simple corrective steps on the spot. For larger issues, we can coordinate with your preferred yard/mechanic or help connect you with trusted local providers.

Do you work with alarms or remote monitoring systems?
Yes. Remote sensors are great, but they don’t replace a human walking the dock. We can verify conditions and help respond to alerts within our normal service area and hours.

Will you move or operate my boat?
As a rule, routine visits do not include taking your boat off the dock. If you need the boat moved for service or haulout, we can coordinate with a licensed captain, your marina, or your preferred yard.
